Subject: Advertizing on Internet
To: Multiple recipients of list DEVEL-L

Well, I need to understand or find out about the rules for advertising
on Internet. A couple of weeks ago, there was some commercial
advertisement mailed to this list and everybody was on the person's
case; I understand that and I approve of it. I believe that
organizations should not use this almost free (to them) medium to
     promote their products.

The message below and others that I have seen on this list and other lists, advertise a paying short course, conference, or other events. These seem like product promotion also.

Could anyone shed some light on this issue especially what are the limits between allowable, tolerable and forbidden

Thanks, Mondher.
