This is not a 'net-issue, this is a non-issue.

Basically this is a beginner's mistake which after a while improves.

Ads however are something totally different, namely in that the rules of the Internet forbid unsolicitated email. This is done by people who know exactly what they are doing or who want to make maoney and see this as a commercial medium.

Not at all.

The iss ue is unsolicitated email or mass postings to news groups where the subject of the posting does not correlate witht he topic of the newgroup.

You can be as PC as you like.

There is noting wrong with advertizing on the Internet. You do it by creating a home page on the WWW. It is also quite clearly allowed to respond to questions with a commercial message, for example if someone wants to know which the cheapest call back services are of course such services can post a short note about their services or email a lengthy blurb to the requestor.

Again, UNsolicited emails and new-postings to several newsgroups that bear no relation to the newsgroups are what we are talking about. The size of the messages quoted, posted or whatever, the signatures etc are NOT what we are talking about.
