Subject: HELP! PR for foreign aid
To: Multiple recipients of list DEVEL-L

DEVEL-L folks - Either the list is dead or I have been unsubscribed so PLEASE
respond directly to me. I will have to resubscribe my self but in the
meantime my email is mailto:KAMICHELS@USAID.GOV if you have any info to send re: the
request below. Thanks!

THis is just one of the type of requests we are increasingly getting more of. the media is all of a sudden interested in both the declining foreign aid budget world-wide and the benefits of foreign aid ESPECIALLY in science and technology. We need information on what other donors consider their successes by COB today. Boy do I wish BellaNet was up and running! - Kathy 202-736-4071 , fax 202-647-8595.

___________________________________________________________________ SUBJECT: LA TIMES news story: need success stories for **other bilateral donors** from their development aid programs.

NEED BY: COB today, Tuesday.

The Administrator has asked us to help out The LA TIMES with information for a feature news story on declining development aid levels globally. They want to highlight dramatic success stories from development assistance (things like vaccines or cures for diseases eg. the leukemia cure from the rosy periwinkle, ORT, averting famine through agricultural breakthroughs) with the take-home message to be: declining aid levels jeapordize any future such benefits. ******They have USAID examples (like ORT)****** They want examples from other BILATERAL donors. THanks for your help! contact: Kathy Michels 202-736-4071, fax 202-647-8595 mailto:KAMICHELS@USAID.GOV
