It all depends on your mail agent. Some download the entire text in the mailbox, and then display the subjects; some just get the subject line and if you reauest to see the email it will download the body of text. Correct me if I am wrong, but once it is in your inbox, you are already charged with the volumn for it, if you are on a time and volumn charge basis. Thus no saving in cost by not reading long message, only opportunity for saving is keeping positng short.
