INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON INFORMATION PROCESSING OR BUSINESS PRACTICES IN DEVELOPING COUNTRIES TO BE HELD IN KARACHI, PAKISTAN

JULY 15-18, 1996

The theme of the conference is information processing or business practices in developing countries. Any proposal relating to any aspect of computer information processing or business practices in developing countries is acceptable. Proposals such as finance and investment, economic development, marketing and consumer management, quality control, human resources, labor relations, privatization, accounting, systems design, database, management information systems, decision support systems, management science, forecasting, international marketing, international management, production/operations management, material and logistic management, public policy, computer and economic development, business technology, or electronic communications WILL BE CONSIDERED. HOWEVER, THOSE WHO ARE NOT SURE OF A TOPIC they want to submit could either fax or e-mail us about their topic and we will inform them about its acceptability.

SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS:

-- Send three copies of your submission. -- Limit papers up to nine single-spaced pages (include an abstract of up to 200 words), and abstract up to two single-spaced pages. -- Symposia, panels, and other proposals should include names and affiliations of those who have agreed to participate and up to a 2- page summary of the topic, including a description of how the session will be structured. -- Include a separate title page and 3 x 5 card listing 1) author(s), 2) affiliation(s), 3) complete mailing and e-mail addresses, telephone number(s), 4) selected topic area, and 5) the name of the individual who will present the paper. If you want confirmation of the receipt of the paper, include a self-addressed, stamped postcard with the title of your submission written on reverse. -- Please indicate whether you will be willing to chair a session. YOU WILL BE NOTIFIED AS TO ACCEPTANCE BY FEBRUARY 1, 1996. TO BE INCLUDED ON THE PROGRAM, ACCEPTED PAPERS MUST BE MAILED IN FINAL FORM BY MAY 1, 1996 ALONG WITH AN INITIAL DEPOSIT OF $50 (NON-STUDENT) or $ 25 (STUDENTS).

CONFERENCE FEE: Registration fee is $100 (regular) or $50 (students) (if paid by May 30, 1996). If paid after that date, the fee is $135, or $75 respectively. The fee covers admission to all conference sessions, a copy of the program, daily refreshments, and a luncheon on July 18, 1996. Every presenter or attendee is required to pay the fee, there is no exemption. No financial aid is available.

AIR & HOTEL RESERVATIONS: Attendees must arrange for their own air travel. However, information about different travel agencies will be available. A list of hotels with their rates will be available. Attendees could either arrange for their own accommodation or reservations, or inform us about their needs and we will provide help. Other information about Karachi will be available to those who register by May 30, 1996.
