ECOTEC (Ecotechnology Network) in cooperation with the Zero Emissions Research Initiatives (ZERI) Project of the United Nations University (UNU), gladly announces the new listserv list called "Bio-Integration"

"Bio-Integration" will be a list for an exchange of information and experiences. Specialised Listserv lists will also be created by ZERI for in-depth discussions by experts, practitioners, entrepreneurs, researchers and students for specific technologies in selected integrated systems. These may include topics like mushrooms, algae, biogas, earthworm, biofertilisers; biopesticides, fish and small animal farming, etc.

The objectives of this series of lists and activities are :

(a) to promote the research and use of ecologically sound and economically viable technologies in integrated bio-production systems (b) to discuss how traditional self-reliant technologies and frontier high technologies can be combined and used in integrated manner (c) to stimulate research on problems related to their applications, integration and economic sustainability.

Through value-added reutilization of agro-industrial and agricultural by-products or materials, these technologies should contribute to zero emissions i.e. production and manufacturing "without wastes" and to provide opportunities for increase income generation and small entrepreneurships development.
