     sorry for the cross-posting.....


     I would be grateful if someone could provide me with a short
     history of ACCION International/Network.


     Am I right in assuming that ACCION International started as
     an NGO credit provider to the poor in South American
     countries?  And that the network has been built-up on the
     basis of additional NGOs which ACCION help to establish,
     using their proven methods of lending?


     Therefore if the above is correct, the basis of ACCIONs
     research and policy advocacy comes from extensive practical
     experience in the field?
