Dr. Lisse, I would have to partly disagree with you. The Department of Defense (specifically the US Navy). Uses Telemedicine applications for ship to shore medical consultations. Before the incorporation of Telemedicine, 15 sailors a day would have to be airlifted from an aircraft carrier back to a land based facility. The telemedicine techniques incorporate video, the internet, and sound in order to consult on real time medical issues.It will only be a matter of time until hospitals (albeit the rich ones) start using the same thing.
