Hello everyone!
For those of you interested in examples of sustainability in Southern California, you can visit the Center for Regenerative Studies. We are next to Cal Poly Pomona, in the foothills of the San Gabriel Mountains. A 16 acre organic farm and research center, we generate much of our own energy, and grow much of our own food. Reclaimed water is used for irrigation and aquaculture. Students, faculty, and researchers provide most of the labor, while sharing the responsibility of community building.
>From 2 to 10pm, this Friday, April 19, we are hosting our second-annual Earth
Day Extravaganza, and everyone is welcome to attend. We expect about 30 socially responsible groups and companies to have booths with free information and samples. A discussion titled The Green Architecture of Frank Lloyd Wright is scheduled for 2:30pm, and a panel on Organic & Urban Agriculture will begin at 4:00pm. Musical groups will perform. Alternative powered vehicles will be on display. Prizes and fun will be had by all!
