An announcement from the Journal of Nutrition Education for those of you who
would be interested in, or would care to distribute, this call for papers in the
field of interntional nutrition education (deadline = June 1 1996):

CALL FOR PAPERS SPECIAL INTERNATIONAL ISSUE JOURNAL OF NUTRITION EDUCATION

Papers are being sought for a special issue of the journal of Nutrition Education focusing on nutrition education programs and research studies conducted outside the continental U.S. Contributions will be accepted for the journal sections listed below.

Authors should indicate the section for which their paper is to be considered.

1.Theoretical research studies. Papers in this section should employ a theoretical construct such as the health belief model, stages of change, self efficacy, locus of control etc.

2. Comparative research studies. Papers in this section should have a clearly defined sampling frame upon which to base statistical comparison(s).

3. Nutrition education programs. Papers in this section should describe the design, implementation and evaluation of nutrition education programs.

4. Nutrition education in a cross-cultural context. Papers in this section should focus on the application of nutrition education principles in different cultural contexts.

5. Food systems, food security and nutrition. Papers in this section should highlight political, social and economic factors influencing health and nutritional status.

6. Interpretation, review and perspective. Papers in this section should involve the synthesis and integration of previous studies or provide new insight on a topic of particular interest to nutrition educators outside the U.S.

NOTE: The (U.S.-based) Society for Nutrition Education, which publishes the above Journal, is becoming more involved internationally. They (well, we - I am also a member) are planning their first International Conference on Nutrition Education to be held in Montreal in July of 1997.
