THE LEAST OF THESE Program Highlights HCJB--The Voice of the Andes May 2 and 4, 1998
We will begin this week's program with a quick around the world tour to trouble spots. Curt Cole will report on an appeal for aid to assist in Indonesia, Ralph Kurtenbach has the story of Borneo where Drought and forest fires have created widespread hunger, and Allen Graham will tell about hunger in northern Brazil and the ethical dilemma which looting has made for the government and the church. Finally, Shelly Sutton will talk with Robert Engelman of Population Action International as he addresses the relationship of water shortages, population and poverty. The Least of These is a weekly radio program produced by HCJB, The Voice of the Andes in Quito, Ecuador, South America. The title of the program comes from the biblical reference in Matthew 25:40 where Jesus Christ said, "I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to me. Whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me."
