    Nature and Scope of the Conference:

    Each year brings new issues that increase the complexity of the environment in which business is conducted. From the employment of the most effective technologies to the operation of businesses across the globe, the entrepreneur must be able to spot key trends in the environment, and strategically respond to these developments. It is critical that we investigate both the global business environment and the challenges of enterprises in this new context. The 8th IB conference seeks to focus on issues and research that anticipates new models and strategies for effective globalization; the rapid adaptation of technology; rising environmental concerns; and the implications of globalization, such as the distribution of wealth and income and sustainable development. Given the importance of these issues, we welcome the submission of research papers, case studies, and panel proposals on a range of business and management topics.

    Submission Format

    The initial proposal should be limited to two pages, including bibliography. Final papers, including case studies should not exceed 20 pages (double spaced), including tables, charts and bibliography. Electronic submissions are accepted. Please submit your paper as an e-mail attachment using MS Word. All submissions will be blind reviewed and accepted papers will be published in the refereed proceedings on a CD-Rom format. At least one of the authors should register and present the paper to qualify for publication in the proceedings.

    The final papers should be prepared using APA format. For more information on formatting guidelines, please visit the conference website (submission guidelines).

    Submission Dates

    Abstracts/proposals: April 30, 2003 Acceptance decision of abstracts by Regional Coordinators: May 31, 2003 Final Paper Submission: August 31, 2003 Confirmation of Final Acceptance: September 30, 2003

    Registration

    Regular Registration (on or before November15, 2003) US $275 Graduate Students and Accompanying guests US $125 Late Registration US $300

    The conference registration will include two lunches (8th and 9th), refreshments at conference breaks, two dinners, cultural show, and conference proceedings on a CD-Rom. The authors requesting hard copies of the proceedings should include an additional payment of US $50. Optional Tour To Tequila Cuervo Hacienda on the 10th: All those interested in participating in this one-day tour should pay an additional charge of $35 at the time of registration.

    Refund policy: The registration fee will be refunded in full, if refund requests are received before November 30, 2003. Late refund requests received on or after December 1, 2003 will incur a US $100 fee for full registration and a $50 fee for Graduate students and accompanying guests. Requests received after December 15, 2003 will not qualify for any refund. However, registrants will receive a copy of the proceedings on a CD- Rom.
