Paul and others (the message is short so I answer to all),
There is three commercial Internet providers in the Dominican Republic,
and hopefully the research network (REDID) will migrate from UUCP to full
Internet prior to the end of the year with the support of FUNREDES and of
AACR, one of the commercial providers.

The providers are: AACR, mailto:@aacr.net Codetel, mailto:@codetel.net.do Tricom, mailto:@tricom.net

The three of them opened their services recently, have some initial Web access, offer attractive prices and are wiling to contribute helping the research sector.
