Please reply to mailto:308@remote1.msm.cgnet.com directly. I am sorry that it reach you but of no interest to you. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Dear Sir/Madam:I am Dr. Yunlong Xia, Head of Computer Unit at ICIPE, the International Centre of Insect Physiology and Ecology, located in Nairobi, Kenya. There is no telecommunications unit at ICIPE. Therefore, C.U. has to take care of telecommunications also.
Recently, ICIPE is in the process of procuring two PABX telephone systems. We are also planning to expand computer LAN at ICIPE. There is no Internet full access service in Kenya except UNEP. Because of upcoming information superhighway, we are wandering if we need to replace the normal cable system to optical fibre system both for LAN and PABX. Could you give us your opinion or suggestion how ICIPE should do it for a better connection with the outside world.
We do not have right idea of the world market price of PABX (supporting 1000 extensions) and optical fibre. Because of the terrible high price at local market, ICIPE Contracts and Tenders Committee can not make decision based on limited fund available for this. We should be very grateful if you could give us the unit price of optical fibre and PABX system in 1000 extensions category.
Thank you very much in advance. Your help can help ICIPE make a right decision. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------
