                    Journal of Euromarketing
   Special Issue on "Marketing in Central and Eastern Europe"

The  purpose of this special issue is to explore the  changes  in
the  marketing  environment  and marketing practice  in  the  CEE
countries, and to provide Western companies with a better  under-
standing of the changing environment, emerging opportunities  and
effective marketing strategies to be employed in the region.  The
following topics are illustrative, but are neither exhaustive nor
mutually exclusive:

* Aspects of marketing environment changes * Sectoral marketing opportunity analysis * Country selection decisions * Mode of market-entry decisions * Emerging patterns of consumer behavior * Brand awareness and country-of-origin effects * Market segmentation issues * Product positioning and policy * Analysis of distribution channels and distribution/logistical strategies * Promotion practices, media availability and regulations * Analysis of price structure and pricing strategies * Case studies of marketing activities of Western firm in the region

Original manuscripts, focusing on the above or related topics, are invited for submission. Due to the rapid changes occurring in the region, preference will be given to contributions based upon recent empirical findings. Papers from scholars and practitioners living in the countries under study are particularly encouraged.

All manuscripts will be blind-reviewed. Criteria for acceptance of papers include relevance to the theme of this special issue, recency, scholarly rigor of analysis, originality and practical implications for marketers. Please submit four copies with an abstract (100 words), short biography of the author(s), and a one-page executive summary. Manuscripts should be limited to 20 double-spaced pages, and should follow the style guidelines of the American Psychological Association.
