I have tried a number of times, and a number of methods, to remove myself from devel-l. I have sent "unsubscribe" messages under every mutation of my user name I could think of. I have sent email to people who I had reason to believe managed this list. Once, I actually received a response - from a person who assured me that my name would be removed. All to no avail.Part of my frustration stems from the fact that commercial outfits - like the author of today's "readme" message - have used this list to promote their products and services. Long distance carriers, software hawkers, so-called consultants - all have abused this list for their commercial gain.
I am out of patience with this. As I noted, I have tried to remove myself from this list and have not been successful. If a "real, live" list manager does exist for devel-l, please help me. I am very disturbed that the very legitimate and important purpose of this list has been abused so often by commercial ventures.
I want off.
