DISASTERS brings together research on disasters, vulnerability and relief and emergency management. From natural hazards through to complex, conflict-related emergencies, the journal aims to improve both the practice of disaster relief and our understanding of the environmental, social and political factors that make people vulnerable to disasters in the first place. DISASTERS also includes book reviews and a conference report.

SPECIAL ISSUE: The December 1996 issue of DISASTERS will be dedicated entirely to the RWANDA EVALUATION which involved 50 experts from over 20 organisations. Articles will include:
