Call for Contributions: IEP 2000 and EcoSummit 2000


Contributions are invited for two forthcoming conferences organised by
Elsevier Science - IEP 2000 (Issues in Environmental Pollution) and
EcoSummit 2000. See below for full details:


IEP 2000
Issues in Global Change: ‘conflicting demands’ on water, air and land
resources in a changing global environment
16 -18 October 2000, Lisbon, Portugal


IEP 2000 is focused on global change and the principal natural
resources: Water (water availability and quality), Air (air quality,
greenhouse gas research: science and responses), Land (land use:
forestry, agriculture, unmanaged systems, minerals/materials).
Additional discussion topics include: Waste disposal & recycling, Energy
and transportation, Urban environments, Sustainability and economic
development.


Abstracts for oral and poster presentations are invited by 28 January
2000.

EcoSummit 2000
Understanding and Solving Environmental Problems in the 21st Century
18-22 June 2000, Halifax, Canada


Topics include: Integrated modeling and assessment; Complex, adaptive,
hierarchical systems; Ecosystem services; Science and decision-making;
Ecosystem and human health; Quality of life/distribution of wealth and
resources.


Contributions are invited for poster presentations and working group
sessions by 15 October 1999.
