Seasons Greetings to All:I work for a non-profit organization that is looking for potential collaborators (i.e., researchers), vars (value added resalers), users/buyers, and funders for telemedical applications we are in the process of developing.
At the Fraunhofer Center for Research in Computer Graphics we have developed, among other things, a telemedical application for collaborative volume visualization called TeleInViVo. TeleInViVo allows remotely situated medical personnel to jointly review and analyze volumetric datasets by sharing the same view, telepointing, and telemanipulating the data. It handles almost any 3D scalar dataset including MRI, CT, 3D Ultrasound, etc. It has been demonstrated over a wide variety of channels of different bandwidth including, ATM, satellite, LAN, WAN, ISDN, and modem (with SLIP or PPP). We recently teamed with another company to produce a portable 3D Ultrasound workstation called MUSTPAC-1 (Medical Ultrasound, Three-dimensional and Portable with Advanced Communications) that was successfuly field tested in Bosnia.
We believe that it has great potential for "developing" nations and even for the rural areas of "developed" countries. There is much more that could be said, but in the interest of brevity let me suggest that if you have an interest please drop me a line. Any advice as to who to contact in pursuing any of the aforementioned relationships would also be much apprieciated.
Thank you,
John D. Coleman Senior Scientist Fraunhofer CRCG
