Greetings:

My name is Brian Fellows. I'm an energy market/policy analyst for the Arizona Dept. of Commerce Energy Office. My interest in this subject and group are rather narrow -- I hope not too narrow to remain in the list of discussion topics.

I am responsible for monitoring and maintaining Arizona's energy policy, as well as for staffing the matching advisory body. The energy policy consists of many facets, including links to the environment (e.g., energy efficiency in buildings, solar and renewable resources, energy and environmental quality, utility/clean air issues, transportation, etc.). Our biggest challenge since the inception of the energy policy in 1990 has been to identify and promote the 'sexiness' of all things energy/conservation. So far, the only thing we can find that motivates people to 'do the right thing,' other than an inherent sense of good, is MONEY.

I'm very interested the DEVEL-L opinions on this topic -- not only the development/technology transfer aspects, but also your personal programs, challenges, and suggestions. Thanks.

Brian
