The Newsletter "CHINA DEVELOPMENT BRIEFING"China Development Briefing reports on social development and welfare in China, including issues such as rural development and poverty alleviation, reproductive health and primary health care, gender, education, environment, disability, child welfare, and disaster relief.
Primarily designed to meet the information needs of international non-government organisations working in China, it is also available to the broader community of development agencies, to academic and research institutions, libraries, media organisations and to Chinese institutions and societies.
It is published by the Asia Pacific Social Development Research Centre, an independent research centre located within City University of Hong Kong.
Bi-monthly issues include news reports, sectoral analyses, regional surveys, profiles of funding institutions and Chinese organisations, detailed descriptions of noteworthy projects, summaries of donor activity and digests of projects in particular sectors.
Areas of focus have so far been: Education (Issue 1); Environment (Issue 2); Rural Credit (Issue 3) and Disability (Issue 4). These have been the subject of sectoral analysis with digests of externally funded projects.

The next three issues will include coverage (and digests of donor activities) of:
Rural health services, Rural urban migration, Urban poverty, Agro-forestry, Chinese Women NGOs, Hong Kong NGOs, Services for the Elderly, Bilateral activities of Luxembourg, Norway, Netherlands, Spain, Sweden and UK.
The subscription rates are 100 US$ plus postage for 1 year (6 issues).
