THE LEAST OF THESE Program Highlights HCJB--The Voice of the Andes December 8, 1997Relief efforts around the world and a water project high in the Andes mountains will be the focus of this week's presentation of The Least of These. We'll hear about several disasters caused by the El Nino weather phenomenon in Africa in a report from Peter Brooks of Mission Network News. We will also talk with Victor Moridueno of Children International in Ecuador where floods along the coast are affecting thousands. Jim Harrelson of Samaritan's Purse will tell us about conditions in Sudan. Finally, we will have a conversation with Bruce Rydbeck of HCJB's Community Service department in Ecuador about water projects and the difference which safe, accessible water can make to a developing community. The Least of These is a weekly radio program produced by HCJB, The Voice of the Andes in Quito, Ecuador, South America. The title of the program comes from the biblical reference in Matthew 25:40 where Jesus Christ said, "I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to me. Whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me."
