Dear Friends,I have just received (through snail mail) a very precious source of information on micro credit, from the Women's World Bank.
It is a beautiful binder with gathering no less than 20 different=20 bulletins and newsletters (called "What's New Bulletin" and "What Works=20 Newsletter"), summing 224 pages very rich in information about the main=20 issues involved in micro credit systems. The binder has a suggestive name:= =20 WWB "Best Practices" Newsletters by Functional Area and I have prepared a=20 page with its summary at the URL:=20 http://webwrite.com/partners.bsb-dc/wwbneeds.htm
I have also included below a typical informative box (" A Sample Needs=20 Assessment Questionnaire ") found in one of these papers.=20
But anyway, I'd like to comment something more: I received this binder=20 inside a big envelope, but no letter came appended to it, so I don=B4t know= =20 why and who has sent it to me... I don't know if they have done this because= =20 of my messages to this list, or because someone from WWB met me at that=20 MicroCredit Summit Preparatory Meeting, last November in Washington, and decided to help us in Brazil. I don't know if someone at the WWB sent the=20 binder to help me with the CD-ROM project on microcredit systems (the=20 material is very apt to be included in the CD-ROM or at a Web site on=20 microcredit)... If it was you who have sent it to me, please send me a=20 message to foster our interchanging... (Of course I'd like to include all=20 this material (at least a big parcel of it) at our page, but I don't want to= =20 dedicate so much work if WWB has already this material at their homepage=20 (Does WWB have a homepage?). I am already translating some texts to our=20 homepage in Portuguese... Tell me your opinions, please. Thanks, Joaquim.
