There's a guy stateside who's doing a "microlending home page". I don't have the URL with me right now, but if you go to my economic development home page <http://catalog.com/kingston/ced> and look for a link to "Dave's microlending home page" you can get quite a number of newspaper articles etc on what people are currently doing around the world in this area.
Also, there is someone that posts to this group by the name of Joaquim, who has a web page about the lending stuff going on in Brazil. I'm going to check it out myself later today.
