Dear friends:Please check out the article in the Amsterdam News (page 13, February 10, 1996) on the Rally in Italy organized by the Humanist Movement against the decree # 489 (which is highly discriminatory against - specially African - foreigners. SolidAfrica and Womenwork are both associated with the Humanist Movement sharing the same philosophy and method of activity. SolidAfrica and Womenwork - both addressing the issue of African and African-American women - feel strongly about the increasing tendency of governments all over the world to look for scapegoats to disguise the true reasons of economic crisis and instability that most of those countries experience. Instead, we vision truly human relationships based on solidarity, non-violence and non-discrimination. The fact to know that 50.000 people - foreigners and local people - manifested their disagreement with racism in Italy strengthens our efforts here to work together in that very same direction.
