the five Chinese Jiaotong ("Transportation") Universities, leading
centers of transportation education and research located in Beijing,

activities and transfers for events in Beijing and, in cooperation
with their sister campuses, for post-Symposium visits to the cities
of Xi'an and Shanghai. This celebration is an excellent opportunity
to visit the leading technical, cultural, and historical points of

The language of the Symposium will be English.
Technical tours in Beijing will include:
1. Traffic Management Center and Automatic Toll-Paying Systems of
the New Airport Expressway
2. Operations Center of the Beijing-West Railway Station
Time will be provided for personal sightseeing at major cultural-
historical attractions including the Great Wall, Ming Tombs,
Forbidden City, and Tianamen Square.
Supplemental visits to Xi'an and Shanghai will incorporate a mix of
technical and cultural-historical attractions to be detailed later.
The registration fee of $395 (U.S.) per person includes the
Symposium, the preprint volume, meals and refreshments, a reception
dinner, the Symposium banquet and gift, airport transfers and
transportation to the technical visits. A companion program will be
available.
Information concerning options for accomodations, international and
intercity air transport, and visa formalities will be provided.
If you would like to be included in the international delegation to
