Workshops & Panels: The conference includes over 30 workshops and panels featuring development professionals on Friday and Saturday speaking on a wide variety of careers in international development, including: Health, Environment, Social Work, Business & Finance, Journalism, Human Rights, Refugees, Democracy & Elections, Women in Development, UN Agencies, Research Organizations, Teaching & Academia, etc. In addition, special workshops focusing on interviewing techniques, job tips and finding the right international job are provided

International Networking Session: Saturday 10-4 Over 30 international organizations will be represented offering internship and volunteer opportunities and some jobs in the developing world and in Washington

Resume Critique & Career counseling (By appointment) Friday 2:00-5:00, Saturday 10:00-5:00

Film Festival: Six films from the developing world: Friday 4-6:30 and Saturday 1:30-7:00

Sunday session- Supporting Grassroots Development: Tools for Campus Organizing 9:00-3:30 Includes ten workshops on various aspects of campus organizing around international development issues, including fundraising, publicity, event planning and the 50 Years is Enough Campaign against the World Bank

Registration information: Conference registrations must be mailed in (not EMail) with a check made out to Visions in Action. Students must include a copy of current student ID to get student rate. Please include your full address, phone, school/organization, and if you are interested in the hunger dinner Saturday night ($7 extra) and/or the Sunday Tools for Campus Organizing Session (no extra charge, preregistration required).

Housing: (See the website for more detailed info) We have arranged for housing at Wesley Theological Seminary next to the American University campus and at The American Youth Hostel in downtown Washington DC, about 2.5 miles from the AU campus. Wesley: Must stay Friday and Saturday nights, March 1-2, at $40 per person for a double room shared wioth another confernece participant, linens included. Thursday and Sunday night accommodation is possible for an additional $20 per night per person, but must be booked in advance by calling Visions in Action. Address: 4500 Massachusetts Ave NW, Washington American Youth Hostel: Dorm style rooms with 8-14 same sex occupants, $18 a night, linens included. 1009 11th St NW, Washington Housing available for any of the nights before, during or after the conference, but must be prepaid to get the special reduced $18 rate.

All space for both Wesley and AYH is limited on a first come, first served basis and must be prepaid by writing a check for the appropriate amount to Visions in Action. There are no advance reservations by phone or Email. Groups should send the name and gender of each partcipant needing housing when they send their payment.
