Last December we held a Seminar on Environment and Development
in Vietnam here in Canberra, with support form AusAID and the
National Centre for Development Studies.

The meeting included several Vietnamese scientists, among them Mr Vu Ngoc Thanh who delivered a paper on biodiversity loss and animal trafficking in Vietnam.

The Vietnam government environment program was discussed in a paper by Dr Tran Thi Thanh Phuong from the Vietnam National Environment Agency.

Other subjects covered included river systems and water quality, air quality and climate change, forest products and cost-benefit analysis of Cat Ba Park.
