Enterprise Education

Enterprise education is directed toward achieving a learning culture which will result in greater numbers of students equipped and enthused to identify, create, initiate and successfully manage personal, business, work and community opportunities. This australian site brings forward interesting concepts but is rather limited at this stage in terms of content.

Forum for International Trade Training

Established in 1992, the Forum for International Trade Training (FITT) is a not-for-profit organization mandated by Canadian government in partnership with the private sector to remedy the shortage of international trade skills and to improve the quality of training in international trade by establishing nation-wide standards. Interesting but limited.

The MicroBanking Bulletin

Newly created by the Economics Institute in Boulder, Colorado, the MicroBanking Bulletin (MBB) is a semi-annual bulletin of a project which is developing a database on the financial performance of microfinance institutions (MFIs). It will offer a forum for those interested in the financial performance of all types of organizations providing financial services to the world's poor.

Donor Committee on Small Enterprise Development

The Committee of Donor Agencies for Small Enterprise Development has since 1979 provided a forum for the exchange of information and coordination of activities regarding small enterprise. It encourages consistency among donor programs by distilling lessons of experience into common principles for assistance. Their homepage is set on the ILO server in order to facilitate the distribution of the Report of the Committee on Business Development Services for SME. It contains the full report as presented to the Donor meeting Group in Geneva in April 1997 and the Summary of this report.

BEPO provides quick, easy and integrated access to major providers of sources of information, services and advice onWaste Management, Emergency, Health and Safety Management, and Resource Conservation and Pollution Prevention , and Industry-Specific Information.

EPA - Business and Industry

Part of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) website, this section on Business & Industry provides quick access to Regulations & Legislation, Small Business Information, Compliance Assistance Centers, Envirofacts, etc. An excellent and very rich site.

Enviro-Access - Center for Environmental Technologies

Enviro-Access is a non-profit corporation, dedicated to helping small and medium-sized environmental sector organizations in the development of new technologies and in the advancement of their businesses.A very rich and interesting site. Do not miss their Environmental factsheets and their Enviro-links

Center for International Environmental Law (CIEL)

The Center for International Environmental Law (CIEL) is a public interest, not-for-profit environmental law firm founded in 1989 to bring the energy and experience of the U.S. public interest environmental movement to the critical task of strengthening and developing international and comparative environmental law, policy, and management around the world.

Waste Prevention Association

WPA is a registered, non-governmental and non profit environmental organisation whose mission is to promote clean production methodology, waste reduction at source, and environmentally friendly waste management: segregation and recycling, as well as rational utilisation of "historical" waste.

Ethical Business

Ethical Business is an on-line resource for people interested in ethical and environmental business initiatives and the complex ethical and environmental issues that business faces. A very interesting site which brings together social, economic and environmental concerns.

The World Wide Web Virtual Library: Environmental Law

The WWW Virtual Library on Environmental Law is maintained by the Indiana University School of Law in Bloomington.It is a meta-index providing a list of Web resources dealing with the issue of environmental law. Interesting but should be looked at in parallel with other WWW libraries dealing with business and commercial law as well as international law.

The Global Network of Environment & Technology (GNET)

The Global Network of Environment & Technology (GNET) "uses communications and information technology to bring together the information, resources and people that shape the environment and technology marketplace." Do not miss the "site map" which in my view provides the quickest way to identify interesting information.

Sustainable Business Network

Part of the Envirolink network, the Sustainable Business Network aims to act as a catalyst to change, in the way we look at sustainable business and the environment. Of particular interest are the SBN journal and the SBN library.

UCLA Center for Clean Technology (CCT)

The Center for Clean Technology (CCT) at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), employs a focused, multi- disciplinary approach to pressing environmental challenges. The goal of the Center is to create a science, engineering, and human resource base for the design of clean, economically competitive technologies. Research programs cover pollution prevention, waste water treatment, etc.

Enterprise for the Environment

This project of the Center for Strategic & International Studies (CSIS) aims to address comprehensive reform and improvement of the environmental protection system and the economic policies that drive public and private decisions affecting the environment. Do not miss the "roundtables" which provide an international perspective, and the report on" Integrating Business Methods With Environmental Management".

International Resource Recovery Network

The International Resource Recovery Network is a not-for-profit online service designed to help businesses cut costs and increase revenues through waste reduction, recovery, and reuse. An interesting concept but at present the main value of the site is the section on weblinks.
