*********************************************** Association for Progressive Communications (APC) Job Announcement: APC WEB EDITOR ***********************************************The APC is about to embark on a process of re-visioning and rebuilding its English and Spanish language WWW sites. Through this redesign, APC plans to transform its site into a key Internet portal for civil society information. The new site will provide a clear route to information and ideas produced by the over 50,000 NGOs who use APC's 25 member networks. It will also provide an opportunity to share APC's vast expertise in areas such as the right to communicate and strategic applications of Internet technology.
APC is seeking an exceptional and visionary person to take on the role of Web Editor. Unlike a Webmaster (who is primarily a technical person), the Web Editor must have exemplary editorial and content skills. These skills are essential to making APC's site a compelling jumping off point which reflects the amazing work of our members and their users.
Working with others, the Web Editor will play a key role in dreaming, planning and implementing the new APC site. Once this process is complete, the Web Editor will drive an ongoing process of gathering and presenting important civil society information on the site.
This part-time position may be performed from any of the 25 countries where APC members are located. Funding permitting, this will become a full time position within 3 - 6 months.
