I'm going to have to come in on the dissenting side on this one.  TRS-80
model 100s are great, and especially well-suited for journalists (which
is what I understand these are for).  They may not have the speed or
bells and whistles that your desktop Pentium does, but they run a number
of basic computer applications, and run them quite well.  They're sturdy,
reliable, and don't have any funky parts to replace if something does
blow out.  In fact, the major problem I see with this project is supply -
there's a real market for used Model 100s out there, and you may have a
tough time finding someone who will part with one for nothing.
