Dear Friends

I have just received this message (snail-mail) and I suppose many of you will appreciate it:=20

MICRO CREDIT SUMMIT DATE CHANGED TO FEBRUARY 2-4, 1997=20

Enthusiasm for the Summit has gained such early momentum that, during the=20 November Preparatory Meeting, the Summit Organizing Committee recommended=20 enlarging the scope of the Summit from the previously planned 1500=20 participants to a possible 3500 or more.=20

The Secretariat has finalized arrangements with a site that will accommodate= =20 a summit of this size. The Microcredit Summit will now be held February 2-4,= =20 1997 at the Sheraton Washington Hotel in Washington DC.=20

See upcoming January '96 MicroCredit Summit Newsletter for preliminary=20 registration information e-mail: mailto:microcreditsum@action.org=20

P.S. I am designing a web site for all relevant pieces of information about micro= =20 credit, where they would stay permanently available. How many people on this= =20 list have access to the WWW? (They would be my first clientele..) But I=20 think such a page will demonstrate its importance in some years, when most= =20 community organizations will be logging into the Net. So we have some years,= =20 but not too much... Please, tell us your impressions and suggestions. =20 =20 1=BE
