I realize that most individuals on this list are interested in the
promotion of development in those areas deemed "under-developed."
However, I am interested in the views and resources available to all of
you regarding the critical investigation of development and potentially
de-development.

This list appears to be very sighted in short term goals. For example: appropriate places for insertion of capital, use of technology to help the not yet perfected "other," and generally a resource oriented view. I realize that this isn't the case for some of the individuals on this list, yet it seems to be a focus. The recent thread regarding indigenous knowledge seemed to have an air of authority from the already "colonized" toward the "to be colonized."

Any critical insight is greatly welcomed.
