SOLAR, WIND AND WATER POWERSolar Energy International (SEI) is offering a series of how-to, hands-on workshops in their 1997 RENEWABLE ENERGY EDUCATION PROGRAM. The workshops include Solar Home Design, Environmental Building, Photovoltaic Design & Installation, Advanced Photovoltaics, Solar Water Pumping, Wind Power, Micro-Hydro Power and Solar Cooking. Workshops are offered from May through September in Carbondale, Colorado. The Photovoltaic Design & Installation Workshop is also offered in Arizona, Georgia, North Carolina, Washington, and Texas.
Internationally renowned guest speakers and professional instructors will teach participants how to design and build state-of-the-art solar homes that are self-reliant, energy efficient, healthy to live in and environmentally conscious.
The workshops are for owner-builders, people seeking careers as solar professionals and people wanting to work in developing countries. The one to two week workshops may be taken individually or as part of a comprehensive program. International participants are encouraged to attend a total of eight workshop weeks beginning June 2 and ending August 1. The tuition for this comprehensive program is US$2800.
