First and foremost it is essential to consider that humans are the
only "purposeful" beings (see "On Purposeful Systems", Ackoff & Emery) with
a capacity to act in a proactive and adaptive manner (as opposed to
simply react as other systems do).

Having said this, and when considering that most humans have only been exposed to the "benefits" of Capitalism ("tell me how much you have and I'll tell you have much you are worth") it makes perfect sense to see humans struggling to make more and more money.

The seeds of greed and the seeds of virtue were long ago sowed. Unfortunately, most people have only learned and been taught ("trained" perhaps) to take care of the seeds of greed.

If this world is to have any hope we must learn and teach our children and youth to cater to the seeds of virtue so that they be aware of the existence of a viable alternative and work on it!.

Best regards, P.S. Capitalism and Communism are but two sides of the same coin (remind me of "Animal Farm" by Olsen, I believe) We must strike a balance through Participative Democracy!
