Motorola just launched the first of 44 planned satellites designed to provide cellular telephone service any where on the planet via a single phone number per person. (The Iridium Project) At least three other companies are following close on their heels with their own series of satellites. I wonder if they would allow some piggy-backing of CMCs to developing countries for little cost. Projections are that they will make a mint off this project.Heck, they're just down the street. Maybe I'll strole on down and ask them whats up. If they don't kick me out immediately, I'll post their response next week.
