I will not acept that some friends keep misleading our readers. See this example:>The root of "capitalism" is the Latin "caput," or "head": capitalism is an
economy of the free and unfettered mind, free to invent, to innovate, to compete as well as collaborate. What is this? Wishful thinking? Wishful wanting that reality was different? Let me explain what Dr. Steves is confusing...
CAPITALISM comes from CAPITAL that means WEALTH (money), because in Roman times (and before), to be rich was the same of owning many HEADS (capita) of CATTLE. The relation between CATTLE and MONEY can also be found relating PECUARY (related to CATTLE) and PECUNIARY (related to MONEY). (as salary comes from SALT, another money-merchandise, as cattle was). No, Dr. Steve, capitalism doesn't refer to free human minds, but to prosaic heads of cattle. (And I am vegetarian and I am sorry about these animals which live and die just to make some humans richer...). _______________________________________________________________ Joaquim Moura
