Hi,The recent discussion on consumption and capitalism, etc. seems pretty relevant to my current interests, so my request is timely.
I am in my 3rd year in a PhD program in Anthroplogy, about to start an independent study on Attitudes toward the environment and consumption, especially for Han Chinese (on the Inner Asian frontier), Tibetan Buddhists, and Chinese Muslims (sufis). If anyone could suggest some useful, recent references, _especially_ those more relevant to anthropology, including cultural values, social networking that requires lots of ostentatious gift exchange, or investment of surplus in not-thisworldly activities, such as pilgrimage, I would be most greatful.
Thank You
