I think our difference lies in definitions. What needs to be strictly controlled is exploitation of the commons (expanded definition). I call that "authoritian", but theoretically these kinds of restrictions could be established in a "systems" democracy.

I just think that our government is too corrupt gone to ever do it. I hope that I am wrong.
