Yo Campers!I've taken to dumping 4/5 of what appears on this list and, after several years of truly cherishing this resource, am close to simply unsubscribing.
technical information, practical examples of technology transfer, and occasional critical evaluation of concrete endeavors has now degenerated into a handful of academics flexing their cerebellums and generating far more heat than light.
I've heard members of this small group of self-appointed saviors whine that we list subscribers need to pull our heads out of the sand and listen to their impassioned arguments once again, or that there's no other place in the whole wide Internet to discuss their current concerns, but I don't believe this is truly the case.
For the sake of preserving DEVEL-L for its original purpose, would it be possible for VITA to create a sister list (DEVEL-THEORY for example) for these folks to hang their hats?
It has been asked before, but I don't recall seeing an answer (not that it could have escaped my attention given all the messages I now routinely delete), so I'll ask it again: Is it possible to receive VITA's newsletter without subscribing to this list?
May I ask, as well, of our friends at VITA, how the list subscribership has fared since the last couple months' eruption of erudition?
