When I was a Peace Corps Voluteer several years ago, I came across a book on
appropriate technology for field workers doing appropriate technology
transfer in developing countries. The book was filled with schematics and
diagrams on how to easily build suction water pumps, shadoufs,...etc, made
from readily obtainable products in rural markets. It was like the
"J.Peterman" approriate technology catalogue for volunteers doing technical
assitance. Many of the plans had been devised by the USARMY (during the
Vietnam war, I think), and each plan gave a brief history about where the
device was used, and the estimated costs for materials.
I would really like to get a hold of another copy or even a Xerox copy, the
name, anything. I think it was put out by VITA, many years ago.

Thanks for any help on this,
