Education Policy Advisor, Ethiopia


The Research Triangle Institute is seeking a Senior Education Policy
Advisor to the Ministry of Education/Addis Ababa, Ethiopia under the
Basic Education System Overhaul (BESO/USAID) project. The position will
be for one year with a possible second year extension.


The advisor will assist in the development, execution, and assessment of
education policy reform. She/He will help develop an understanding of
and support for policy analysis, a structure and local capacity for
conducting policy analysis and a process for policy reform.
Particularly, the advisor will help to stimulate policy dialogue and
evaluation based on the results of analysis at both the central and
regional levels, and will be responsible for data collection and
quantitative analysis using statistical software.


The successful candidate will have a high-level degree (Ph.D. or
equivalent) in an appropriate field (education, economics, public
policy), solid quantitative skills and proven experience in creating
policy analysis systems in developing countries. Previous USAID
experience preferred.
