The Office of Foreign Disaster Assistance (OFDA) of the U.S. Agency for International Development is recruiting for the position of Action Officer. One year personal services contract with possible renewal. The position is a GS7-GS11.
Duties Include: Assist Regional Team Leader in monitoring countries that are prime candidates for disaster response activities; Coordinate interagency reviews of proposals to disaster programs, interface with implementing organizations regarding project proposals, coordinate response to disaster declarations, track due dates of program status reports , review daily cable traffic and flag cables requiring action or special attention for the Program Officer and Assistant Director; attend meetings as assigned by the Regional Team Leader.
Qualifications: Experience with private voluntary organizations in emergency relief, humanitarian assistance or project management. Prior experience with OFDA preferred. Strong writing/analytical skills required. BA in international relations, economics, food policy or related field. U.S. citizen. Secret clearance with USAID required (will be pursued after hiring).
