Education Development Center (EDC), a Boston-based NGO, has been short-listed by the Asian Development Bank to develop a proposal to assist the Government of Kyrgyz Republic to help them plan a project to improve its emerging technical and vocational education and training (TVET) system. SUMMARIZED, the project involves assessment of the formal system, review of non-formal skills development, identification of means to develop entrepreneurs, and improving the capacity for private sector involvement. (Much more information is available, but some people have to pay by the minute or the byte for e-mail.)

Should our proposal be successful, we anticipate the need for specialists in the following areas for ten weeks this coming summer:

-- education economics -- formal TVET -- non-formal skills training and development -- small and medium enterprise development -- public-private partnerships for skills development -- social sector analysis and NGO development.

Applicants must be citizens of an ADB member nation (note: In addition to countries in Asia, U.S., Canada, and most, if not all, EU countries are also members). Knowledge of Russian a plus. EDC is an equal opportunity employer, eager to provide our potential clients with the best talent possible.
