Greetings!
Here's a quick reply with some leads, though you may already have
seen them:
1) Terralingua http://cougar.ucdavis.edu/nas/terralin/ , an organization
focusing on the link between linguistic diversity and biodiversity, and the
need to preserve indigenous languages (in which indigenous knowledge on the
environment is "kept" and transmitted) in order to more effectively protect
the latter.
2) IKDM http://www.nuffic.nl/ciran/ikdm/index.html must have some articles
relating to your topic, but I haven't checked.
3) ELDIS http://www.ids.ac.uk/eldis , the excellent database on development
which includes environment- related topics, and is worth a search
I was also interested to learn a couple of years ago that the FUNDAEC "rural
university" in Colombia had begun to work with the Wayuu people in the north
of the country. I believe environment was one of the areas addressed, but
haven't kept up with what they're doing. If you're interested in that
region I can try to dig out a contact.
All the best!

Subject: a question on education and the value of biodiversity
Hello:
I would like to know about different projects working with indigenous
peoples that include participatory workshops, extension, education, or
community outreach efforts dealing with the value of biodiversity.
Can anyone refer me to good examples?
Thanks a lot,
Maria
