I have an interest in UN matters from both a general knowledge and business perspective, and so a number of months ago after periodically accessed the UN "Daily Highlights (http://www.un.org/News/)" service I sat about attempting to ascertain whether it was possible to automatically receive an e-mail version of the service. With that aim in mind I sent messages to the address on the site and various other UN organisations who I thought might know the situation , I only received one reply, from an individual who was unable to help (at least she took the time to answer).
As far as I can tell when the service was operated as a gopher system you could receive individual issues by request to a mail robot. This would prove time consuming if one had to go through this process each day.
Since the service changed to a "www" format, I am not sure whether even the above is still possible so if anyone knows what the current situation is I would be most interested in being informed.
Also if you know of any other UN information available by e-mail, I would be most interested in finding out about it.
The types of information I am interested in or both general (Daily Highlights), and commercial (say Procurement notices, Project updates).
Thanking you for taking the time to read this message, and looking forward to your response.
Diarmuid O'Donovan
P.S an interesting item appeared at the end of today's issue of "Daily Highlights", As yet I have not had a chance to take a look at the site mentioned but by the description given it looks interesting.
