Transition: The Newsletter about Reforming Economies
*****************************************************************
I have recently received the June 1997 of the excellent World
Bank newsletter - Transition: The Newsletter about Reforming
Economies. Since this list was created in 1994, I have often
informed list members about the newsletter, and suggested that
they take advantage of the opportunity to receive the publication
free of charge from the World Bank.

The Bank has recently adjusted its subscription procedures, initiating a subscription fee for subscribers in some countries, and retaining the free subscription option for subscribers in transition and developing countries. Before outlining the sub- scription procedures, as I understand them, let me first present (1) the newsletter profile, as provided by the World Bank, and (2) a listing of articles in the June 1997 issue (40 pages). ----------------------------------------------------------------- Profile of Transition ----------------------------------------------------------------- Transition is a bi-monthly newsletter that provides the latest information and analysis of trends and events in reforming econo- mies. They address key topics - privatization, trade liberalization, development of social safety nets, bank restructuring, and much more. Regular features include milestones in transition, World Bank and Inter- national Monetary Fund project information, a conference calen- dar, new books and journals, letters to the editor, and a bibli- ography of selected articles.
