Somebody was kind enough to point out that in my first forwarding of this
message, the excessively long line length coming from the original
sender's message apparently gave some mailers a problem. I've tried to
insert some carriage returns in this copy, by a combination of
cutting/pasting and FTP'ing. Hopefully, it will be more legible.

A NEW JOURNAL - CALL FOR PAPERS

IB Review A journal for institutional innovation, development, and transition

IB Review is an international journal published in Ljubljana, Slovenia, by the Institute of Macroeconomic Analysis and Development (IMAD). Although it is based in a country in transition, its focus is not on transition in former socialist countries alone, but on the general process of institutional change, development, and innovation as it takes place in any country, either led by the government or evolving spontaneously. The journal also hopes to contribute to the on-going critical discussion in the economics of institutions and development.

In order to gain a better understanding of the institutional changes and the variety of development paths in different countries, the journal will be open to different approaches, writing styles and social science or related disciplines. All submitted papers will be subjected to anonymous review.

IB Review is edited by 4 international editors (Reiner Eichenberger, Vladimir Gligorov, Filip Palda, Adi Schnytzer) and a broad editorial board (including, among others, Dennis C. Mueller, Ewald Nowotny, Friedrich Schneider, Gordon Tullock, Ronald Wintrobe, Vito Tanzi).

The first issue, comprising 8 articles on 90 pages, appeared in June 1997. Contributors include, among others, Bruno S. Frey, Steve Pejovich, Enrico Colombatto and Jonathan Macey. The second issue will be published in spring 1998, and then the regular frequency of publication will be decided upon. You may see complete contents and abstract of papers at http://www.sigov.si/zmar/ .

The editors will warmly welcome submission of papers from economists and other social scientists that fit in the broad editorial policy as outlined above. Submissions should be send to IMAD, Gregorciceva 25, SI-1000 Ljubljana, Slovenia. For additional information regarding submission, please email mailto:janez.sustersic@uni-lj.si.

For detailed information on subscription, contact IMAD, Gregorciceva 25, SI-1000 Ljubljana, Slovenia (fax +386-61-1782070, email mailto:pisarna.zmar@zmar.sigov.mail.si). The price of a single issue is 15 USD + pp.

A series of conferences will also be organized in Slovenia by the IMAD in order to stimulate critical discussion of the research presented in the IB Review. For more information, visit http://www.sigov.si/zmar/ .
