Program Highlights The Least of These HCJB--The Voice of the Andes July 28, 1997On this week's program, we will be looking at the issues of pure water and sanitation and the needs of the elderly. Jill Keifer has a report on the lack of adequate sanitation facilities around the world and the problem of pure water. Then, we will talk with Will Hartzell, Vice President of Safe Water Systems, an organization which is supplying solar-powered water purification systems around the world. Finally, Dawn Johnston Pitt of United Nations Radio will talk with Ambassador Julia Tavares de Alvarez of the Dominican Republic about the needs of the increasing population of the elderly. The Least of These is a weekly radio program produced by HCJB, The Voice of the Andes in Quito, Ecuador, South America. The title of the program comes from the biblical reference in Matthew 25:40 where Jesus Christ said, "I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to me. Whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me."
