The Least of These Program Highlights HCJB--The Voice of the Andes August 4, 1997On this week's program, we will hear about winners and losers in the world's economic scene. Then, we will hear about the difference between income poverty and human poverty as defined by the United Nations Development Program. We'll learn more about the United States Agency for International Development, how its programs are planned, the level of US foreign aid and integrity in aid programs as we talk with the USAID Mission Director in Ecuador, Thomas Geiger. Finally, Paul Bell will take us to India where we will learn about the Gonds people group.
The Least of These is a weekly radio program produced by HCJB, The Voice of the Andes in Quito, Ecuador, South America. The title of the program comes from the biblical reference in Matthew 25:40 where Jesus Christ said, "I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to me. Whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me."
